Abstract

In this study is examined the influence of Ilustracion del Derecho real de España and of Institutiones Romano Hispanae ad usum tironum hispanorum ordinatae, both written by the Valentian jurist Juan Sala Bañuls, over the Chilean Civil Code ( 1857), through the analysis of notes that indicate them as source of some of the Code's articles, concretely about the capacity to succeed and of civil death; of the concurrence of the transmission, representation and substitution rights; and of possessory actions.
