Abstract

Pope Pius X ordered in 1904 the writing of the first Code of Canonical law that the Latin Church had. the codification task resulted not only from the work of a closed group of experts, but also from considering the opinion of the world episcopate, which was consulted at two moments; in both moments, Chilean bishops were consulted, but the documentation has been kept in the secret Archive of the Vatican until recent times. In this opportunity, a partial project of the Canonical law Code sent to Rome in 1904, written by Chilean bishop Rafael Fernandez Concha, unknown until now, is published.
