Abstract

Backed by previous findings, this paper offers an overview of the history of the maxim q.o.t., which is complemented with indications and suggestions of the A. By the same token, the origin of the formula is analyzed; a systematic personal one about the circumstances -where, by whom, why and how it has been mentioned or quoted- is proposed; and the peculiar importance such regula iuris has had for the canonical law, out of which it was born and where it has had a forceful life preserved to date, is emphasized.
